Give you two guesses who that babe in the big hat is!
How hot it has been here this past week, we of the northern persuasion are not used to it!  I have electric-fans..fanning constantly but I've drawn the line to wearing such a sombrero again.  I am actually 'pretend smoking' a sweetie cigarette in the photograph....I can remember that much, I bet they don't sell those any more, what do you think?

Hello Jane:
We are at least pleased to read that you are having the kind of weather for which a sombrero might prove useful. Far better surely than the water wings that you surely have been sporting over the past few weeks!!!

Sweet cigarettes, yes, we can remember them from our childhood. This has got to be advertising in the worst possible taste, surely, but how we remember liking the way in which one could use the red tip of the cigarette to paint one's lips. We are fairly sure that the sweet cigarette has had its day, and do you think that Spangles, Sherbert Fountains,Refreshers and Love Hearts have endured the same fate?

Let me put the heat into perspective for you. Here it is 92 F/33 C with 10% humidity. Now, don't you feel cooler?
The high tomorrow is predicted to be 99 F/37 C. I have ceiling fans going in every room. It's a wonder the roof doesn't take off.

Dear Jane and Lance
Oh I remember doing that 'lipstick thing' with the red tip to those sweeties! Such a shame that Spangles died away I loved those, you can still find Love Hearts I think, but no Refreshers and Sherbert Fountains Alas!

Candy cigarettes. I do remember them. I believe they still make them, but they're in novelty shops now.

What a sweet photo of you.

You are oh so cute dear Jane.
It has been a tad hot here too this past week... 30C+ and then add in the humidity factor today and its 37C.
What have we done to our beloved Earth that she sends such relentless heat.
Stay cool!
